Early one morning while traveling to Colorado, I looked out the car window and noticed the light glowing in the side mirror.
Ahead of us, the sky appeared gray. But reflected in the mirror was a brilliant sunrise filled with orange, red, and gold. I had to capture the moment.
As I looked at that light, I felt such an inner sense of peace. At the same time, it felt like a relaxing push—an encouragement to begin the day and keep moving forward.
I have been reflecting on where I have been, what I have done, and the many experiences that have shaped me. My life as a sister, mother, occupational therapist, advocate, artist, and Possibility Architect continues to influence how I see people, participation, creativity, and possibility.
Looking back does not always mean we are stuck in the past. Sometimes looking back helps us recognize the light that has been there all along.
I do not know exactly what is waiting for me on the road ahead. I have ideas, questions, hopes, and dreams—but I do not have every step planned. Maybe I do not need to.
Perhaps moving forward is not always about seeing the entire road clearly. Sometimes it is about pausing long enough to notice the light, trusting what has brought us this far, and allowing our own inner light to guide us toward whatever comes next.
The light behind me is not pulling me backward. It is gently encouraging me to begin again and move forward.
What light is helping you move forward today?
