There are so many things I could write about today.
So many ideas.
So many possibilities.
So many directions I could take.
But today, I keep coming back to something simpler.
Let the process unfold.
As I sat with pieces of fabric, bits of paper, color, texture, and scraps for the tidbits of art I’ve been creating, I found myself thinking about all the in-between stages. The unfinished parts. The transition points. The moments when something is becoming… but is not quite there yet.
And maybe that is the part we need to honor more often.
Not every step needs to be rushed.
Not every idea needs to be decided immediately.
Not every creative moment needs to be pushed into completion.
Sometimes what is needed most is a pause.
A deep breath.
A quiet moment.
A little space to observe what is in front of us.
This is where the Possibility Loop comes to mind for me.
Stop.
Pause.
Think.
Dream.
Then consider.
Not because we are stuck.
Not because we are avoiding.
But because we are allowing.
Allowing the mind to settle.
Allowing the process to speak.
Allowing ourselves to notice what is emerging.
This is something I encourage so many others to do — the individuals I serve, the caregivers, the staff, the people who are trying so hard to support someone well. Rushing is rarely what brings out the best in creativity, connection, or participation.
When we slow down, we make room for self-regulation.
We can stop.
We can think.
We can take a deep breath.
We can observe.
We can let what we are seeing sink in.
And then, from that place, we can decide what comes next.
That decision may look small.
It may be quiet.
It may even be to wait a little longer.
And that is still a choice worth honoring.
Sometimes I need this reminder just as much as anyone else.
To not rush.
To not force.
To trust that something meaningful can unfold one layer at a time.
Today, that is where I am.
In the pause.
In the pondering.
In the middle of the process.
And maybe that is exactly where possibility begins.
