You Never Know What it Will Become

You Never Know What it Will Become

Not everything we start
needs to become something.

Not every mark
needs to turn into a picture.

Not every project
needs a finished outcome.

And yet…

how often do we begin with that expectation?

That it should look like something
or be something
or turn into something worth sharing.

I’ve been sitting with this idea lately—
especially while creating.

The table gets messy.
The materials come out.
Pieces start forming…

And sometimes…

they just stay as they are.

Half-finished.
Layered.
Undefined.

Not wrong.
Not incomplete.

Just… in process.

In the work I do,
and in the moments I share with others,

I’m reminded again and again—

Participation doesn’t require a final product.

Engagement doesn’t need proof.

And creativity…

doesn’t always ask for completion.

Sometimes the value is in:

  • touching the materials
  • making a mark
  • choosing a color
  • staying with the moment just a little longer

That’s it.

That’s enough.

So today, here’s a different kind of invitation:

Start something…
and allow it to not become anything.

No pressure to finish.
No expectation to share.

Just time spent
in the process.

What changes when you let go of the need for an outcome?
